Frigiliana is possibly more beautiful at night than during the day. This is where to stay to enjoy it the most.
Frigiliana is stunning, but I always feel rushed to enjoy it by the crowds, especially in Summer.
But by 5 pm, the town becomes quiet, and the buses leave.
Frigiliana becomes a village again.
Staying overnight means you can enjoy the sunset from your terrace and wander the lamplit streets alone.
There's also morning coffee in the plaza before the first tourists arrive.
Here are my top picks.

Top 4 Places to Stay in Frigiliana
Beneste Frigiliana Hotel

Beneste Frigiliana Hotel is the closest thing to a proper hotel in the village.
The building sits at the edge of the old quarter with unobstructed views across the valley to the sea.
The swimming pool is the highlight. It's small but perfectly positioned, with panoramic views that make it one of the most scenic pools on the Costa del Sol.
Most rooms have balconies or terraces. The breakfast terrace shares that same stunning view.
The location works well: close enough to walk into the old quarter in two minutes, but accessible enough that you don't have to drag luggage up endless stairs. Parking is available nearby.
Hotel Los Caracoles

Hotel Los Caracoles sits high in the mountains on the road between Frigiliana and Torrox.
The views are spectacular. From the terrace, you look across the valley to Frigiliana cascading down the hillside, with the Mediterranean in the distance.
The setting is peaceful and remote. Rooms are simple but comfortable, and the restaurant serves good local food with those incredible views.
You'll need a car. The access road is narrow and winding, and it's about a 10-minute drive down to the village.
This is the choice if you want tranquillity and views over convenience.
Hotel Rural Almazara

Hotel Rural Almazara sits in an old olive mill just outside the village.
The setting is peaceful: terraced gardens, a swimming pool, and mountain views with none of Frigiliana's tourist crowds.
Rooms are spread across converted farm buildings. Whitewashed walls, wooden furniture, terracotta floors. The pool area is surrounded by gardens and olive trees.
You'll need a car, and it's a short drive or a 20-minute walk to the village. Good if you want tranquillity with easy access to both Frigiliana and the coast.
La Casa del Molino

La Casa del Molino is a restored mill house at the edge of the village.
Close enough to walk into Frigiliana, yet private enough for a peaceful retreat. The property has a private garden with a BBQ and incredible mountain views.
The traditional architecture has been lovingly restored, with exposed stone, wooden beams, and a terrace that catches the evening light beautifully.
A romantic option, perfect for couples seeking character and privacy.
Which One to Choose
For the best overall experience: Beneste Frigiliana Hotel. The pool with panoramic views is exceptional, and the location at the edge of the village means you can walk into the old quarter in minutes.
For romance and character: La Casa del Molino. Private garden, mountain views, restored mill house charm.
For spectacular views: Hotel Los Caracoles. High in the mountains with panoramic vistas across the valley. You'll need a car, but the setting is unforgettable.
For a countryside retreat: Hotel Rural Almazara. Olive mill setting, terraced gardens, pool.
Frigiliana vs Nerja
Nerja is just 6 kilometres down the hill, and most people stay here and just visit Frigiliana for a day.
If you're only in the area for a day or two then I recommend staying in Nerja instead because you'll be staying near so many beautiful beaches.
But, if you have 3 days or more, consider starting or ending your Costa del Sol trip with a day in Frigiliana.
